I guess this goes under music?
Just wanna see if anyone gets into car audio as much as me. If you have some aftermarket audio equipment (and I'm not talkin stock "BLOSE" systems) give a list off what you got.
Currently I have:
*h/u................Alpine CDA-9830 (big thumbs up)
*sub................Elemental Designs 13kv2 (great sq and decent spl for sealed)
*sub amp.........Alpine MRP-M350 (puts out a lil over 350 watts rms, reliable so far)
*Running stock speakers, for now, off the h/u amp. My h/u helps these speakers alot cuz without the Alpine they were complete shit. Now they are decently shitty.
Future plans:
I'm workin on some fiberglass kickpanels at the moment that will house some Elemental Designs edi6000's and I will probly power them with an Alpine amp that puts out about 75 watts rms at 4 ohms. Should sound awesome.
If you've got some cool stuff post it up. Tell if it's shitty or good.

HU - Pioneer DEH-P6500 (decent HU, has a good amount of features, and has a cool graphics display)
Rears - Pioneer 3-ways, for the money they had really good bass, ill find the model later
Fronts - Infinity Kappa Perfect's 5.1, kinda dissapointed in these, though they do sound very good, i really need an amp for them
Sub - Infinity Kappa Perfect 10.1, this has amazing SQ, but little SPL, this is what i was looking for though so im pleased with it.
Amp - I only have a HiFonics Brutus BX500 500x1 amp powering the Sub, but im happy with it, though i dont think it puts out quite what it says power wise, (i have it running at 250 watts)
If i was to do it again i would go with a better headunit (alpine or 8000 series Pioneer) and maybe a reasonant engineering sub and also get an amp(s) for the fronts and maybe the back spaekers

Kappa Perfects are some good sounding subs but as you said lack spl. And yea I have heard that just about all Hifonics are slightly overrated, but still, they are about the best bang for the buck. I mean u can get near 1500 watts for about $250 so who cares if its slightly overrated.
Only thing i didnt like about your system is having rear speakers. If you set up your front stage right, rear speakers are pretty useless. My advice would be spending more money on a good front stage (componenets, not coaxals) and amp to power them properly.
I haven't heard a resonant engineering sub but I have heard great things about em. Their XXX is a W7 killer if u feed it enough watts. cough* Hifonics BX1500 *cough

Hey as long as your happy with it, thats all that matters. But car audio is my addiction so I would not be happy with that...at all.

They actually are component speakers, they just dont sound as good as i expected because i dont have an amp on them. The resonant engineering subs sound amazing, there incredibly loud and also pretty clear.
