New album in August. And his new video "Diamonds" premiered today. What do you guys think? Was Kanye just a one hit wonder or will he last?

I, myself think Kanye is very likely to succede if he quits bragging about how awesome he is, he needs to quit with the "I'm the best and you all need to realize it" bullshit.

I think Kanye is good. He produces good music.
Although I'm not really a fan of this song.

Candyshop, Jesus walks was a great song.
You also know that Kanye was one of the producers of "the documentary" ?

I love Kanye. Its just so great to see a mainstream rap artist accept himself for what he is. He isnt trying to be all gangsta thuggin and acting like he lived a hard ass life. He grew up in a middleclass family, and he doesnt try to hide it.

Kanye isnt amazing with wordplay or metaphors or anything else like that. Really the only thing amazing is his beats. He makes some crazy good beats. But the reason he kicks so much ass is cause of how he truly speaks his mind. Im not talking about the "speak his mind" Eminem like where he says what he wants even if its controversial, im talking about the message he sends out to kids. Pretty much all artists, if they made it through high school or not, always tell kids to stay in school. They always say that you need an education to survive. Kanye is the first person i have ever heard thatn actually tells people to drop out of school. I mean i completely disagree with what he says about how school is useless, but the fact that he says it knowing that almost everyone will disagree with him is pretty cool.

His first album did have its ups and downs. A lot of the songs were great, but he did get a lil carried away with the skits. I understood his philospy of "school is worthless" from just one of the skits, he didnt need to give me 6 of em to get the point across.

Im really lookin forward to this album, cause he has the potential to become one of the greats. If his next couple albums are like his first (minus a few of those skits), then he guarntees himself a spot amongst the best. But then if he takes the road of Eminem and starts lettin out shit, then ya gonna have to do some mighty fine arguing to convince anyone he is worthy of the top 20.
