WTF is up with GOOGLE EARTH

Ok, so I hear all this commotion about how great google earth is, and how its free, and all of that. So I download Google Earth, NOT Google Earth Plus. And I install it, and when i start it up it asks me for a login, which i dont konw what to do. Can anyone please help me??

www.earth.google.com did you get it off tehre, it not thats where you dowload it...

I did download It from that exact site. I have done it many times, i have reinstalled, and all of that. It keeps asking for a login and I can't just go into the "free" program. I even went into my registry and took out the plus files, and it still came up again.
