Well, yeah. I'd like to hear a different genre, I ain't got much money now, so I'll buy - one - single new album.
It can be any artist, but I want it to be new.
I have all the cds of any westside-legend artist, most of the dirty south's. I also got anything from d-12, Eminem, and sadly, G-Unit ( at least young buck's album's good ). I also got joe budden's CD, and a few more that I don't think you people would recommend me.
So yes, which artist should I discover more? I bet 10$ you people will say Nas.
So yeah, go ahead and vote. I'll also give my opinion on the album after listening to it.

Madvillainy - Madvillain. Underground rap at its finest.

Word Madvillain is nice but if you're gonna get a Doom album you gotta go with Viktor Vaughn - Vaudeville Villain.
But even though you said new my vote is going to BIG's Ready To Die since you said you never heard a biggie song in the other thread.

Guys he said he wants something from a new artist.
I recomend just finding some shit from Papoose. That guy is just crazy with his bars. www.mixtapekings.com have a few of his mixtapes for cheap. Check hiom out, you'll like him. You might also wanna check out Saigon, he's good as well. The New York rap scene is on fire right now, they have so many skilled underground rappers.
But if you're going for some classic albums I think you should get Reasonable DOubt, Doggystyle, Ready To Die, Aquemini, Illmatic, The Chronic, The 36 Chambers, Paid In Full, and Quality. You can't go wrong with any of those.
Yeah, I agree, Del is awesome.
I don't know if this is classified as rap, but the Album Demon Days by Gorillaz is cool.
If your into the party rap hyphy shit or whatever, alot of westcoast people have been listening to Keak da Sneak, he only really does party shit mostly though..
Sevins All or None is Incredible if you can find it, not easy unless your in California.
Some of the better albums I have heard since last year, College Dropout, that is an awesome CD, you can listen to the whole thing through and not have to skip any songs.
Chicken and beer was a good CD to me also.
Papoose, he is doing his thing and its hot.
If you are from Cali, Pickup Outlawz for Life, its Tupacs, Huessein Fatal, Kadafi, and Mussolini's old group. It is the best CD I have listened to in like 3 years.

damn right with the madvillainy. but the one i'll mention is an underground CLASSIC. pete rock and InI/Deda (InI is what the album is basically about).
check it out (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0000D9Y5N/qid=1121976146/sr=8-1/ref=pd_bbs_1/104-1251548-8241543?v=glance&s=music&n=507846)

Papoose is boring to me... he's a skilled emcee as far as multis and whatnot but his delivery is just so boring and his content so uninteresting.
Get K-OS's album Joyful Rebellion and Talib Kweli's Quality. Quality is straight hip-hop and Rebellion is more a mix of hip hop, rock, reggae, and a bunch of other genres. Both are excellent in my book.

How many songs have you heard!? How is his contest uninteresting?I don't know exactly how many.. a couple mixtapes worth of songs. One song I like from him is his collab with Common, Rebel Muzik. But most of his shit is just a bunch of multi's and punchlines and that's fine but it seems like he never has anything interesting to say. He sounds just like Dipset, D-Block, and all these other NY mixtape type of rappers. How is his content boring? I dunno, personally I'm not too impressed with brag rap. It takes more than just multis to keep me interested. Plus like I said before, his delivery is pretty typical and doesn't do a thing for me.

Yo fuck that underground shit... :insane:
Youngbloodz - Presidential (pure ATL fire!)
50 Cent ft. Mobb Deep - Outta Control (crazy beat!)
Pussy Cat Dolls ft. Busta Rhymes - Don't Cha (rap/r&b nice song, funky shit)
Missy Elliott - Lose Control (Club Banger!)

I didn't get his first. I was going to buy it but I bought one of eazy-e's I didn't have...
Let me clear something guys. I want to hear about an artist normaly I would never; Biggie, Nas, jay-z, WHATEVER, POPULAR artists... All I ever listened to has dirty south or westside shit in it. ( hence my previous ebaum name ) I don't want to have to buy mixtapes... it's irritating.

If your looking for something from west coast then get Soul On Ice by Ras Kass. But if you just want a great album (and something different) then get The Score by the Fugees, Im sure you heard "killing me softly" and "ready or not". If you want something more newer get Black On Both Sides by Mos Def. The newest CD (that I think you might like) is College Drop Out by Kanye West, but I would much rather get BE by Common (but Im not sure if you would like that).

That reminds me, anyone who considers themselves a hip hop fans and doesn't own Enter The Wu Tang: 36 Chambers is in for a big suprise. If you don't have that, get it as soon as you can. That doesn't only go for the thread starter, it goes for anyone. It's possibly the best hip hop album ever. I prefer it over Illmatic, that's how great it is. Especially get it if you like grimy sounding NY hip hop like Nas, Mobb Deep, and stuff like that. Wu is at the base of all of it. RZA basically pushed hip hop production into a new era. I dunno why people say it was Dre that did this, Dre's early beats inspired most of the "bling rap" we have today. RZA's production completely defined the 90's NY hip hop scene, listen to anything before the 36 Chambers and then something after it and it'll be clear how revolutionary his production was.
At the same time, the lyricism of the Wu Tang was completely different to anything that'd been made before also. While a lot of rappers pre-Wu Tang specialized in mostly party music, brag rap, and political rap, the Wu came out with their martial arts influenced samples and their grimy street lyrics and changed the pace of hip hop completely.
Buy this album.
