I don't get it. I copy and pasted the image in paint, and it stopped. The image is an animated gif. But whats the point in it?

Did you read the instructions?

Yes, and I'm saying that its completely pointless.

Pointless how? It's an optical illusion. Did it not work?

It's just an animated picture. I did it, and I found out that it wasn't one.

you did stare at the + right? The dots didn't dissapear for you? If your thinking that the rotating dot is the illusion than yes, this illusion would suck indeed.

Yeah when you stare at the + the dots disappear one at a time. Anyways why does it say they are red dots, I see purple dots with the one green one. I know it's because it is fast but does anyone know a scientifc explanation for why our eyes think it disappears.

Yes, I did. Nothing happened. I figured that if you go farther from the screen, the pink comes more visible.

It's not a flash, its an animated image. And no, the dots Do Not dissapear. As I had said it before. I just said that because of my crappy screen. Consider some thinking before you post, n00b. Also thats pretty bad grammer considering your a 33-34 year old.

it worked for me, but the pink dots only go away for a couple seconds then come back. And if i focus on one of the pink dots instead of the +, all the other pink dots dissaear except for the one im looking at.

it's not an animation where the dots disapear or anything.. it ain't fake shit...

if you look at the + in the middle and focus on it all the dots will dissapear.. and as soon as you look away from the + they will return.. you can just see with the angle of ur eye that they dissapear... dunno why the brain does that.. must be something with the eyesight tunnel

Yeah, the green rotating dot is not meant to be the illusion - it's not fake.

If you do it properly, you should only be able to see the flashing green dot, and none of the pink ones.

If you pay close attention to it, the green dot isn't actually green. It's just the pink dots disappearing and reappearing. Try following the "green" dot with your eyes, and you'll see that there is no green dot.

The colors mess with you. :)

yes as we know when you look at one color for a while and look away you see the opposite of that color. the oposite of the redish pink dots is that greenish color

THANK YOU! I can go to sleep tonight (hopefully drunk) knowing that someone besides myself knows how the human eye works. The dots while shown are only one color. If you shift your eyes slightly you can see all the dots in a greenish color, until your eyes adjust to the background.
