View Full Version : How to convert the bitrate in an audio file?
I've got 9 .wav files that I need to convert the bitrate from 1411kbps to a lower bitrate, preferably 128kbps. Is there a way to do this through WinAmp or WMP or some other free software?
Thanks for any response.

Alright, well first off.. You sure you want to make a .wav file such low quality?
It will sound like ass... Would you be more content just converting them to .mp3, .ogg, etc? If you still want to, try two programs. Sony SoundForge or Goldwave. Each are pretty good with audio files.. I couldnt tell you EXACTLY how to do it, but it can be down, and if soundforgo or goldwave cant do it, well... They can.. Its that simple. Grab the programs, then go to www.videohelp.com and typing in something like wav bitrate conversion or something... Hope that helps.
