Ok so when I tried to play a DVD on my computer it didn’t work. Then I tried to burn some music on to a CD and then that drive didn’t work. So then I went to My Computer to look for the hardware and the drives were gone.
Then I went to my bios for the drives then I looked into the DVD drive bios and I found 19 smile faces and have no clue what that is? Then I went to my Cd-rw drive bios and it said its unknown? :insane:
Any help would be appreciated thanks.

Ok, boot up your computer, then hit the "f key" that willl take you to system setup, hten hit "alt+e", "alt+f" and finally "alt+b" to reboot. This should set your drives back to factory settings.
This should work, but I'm not taking any blame if it doesn't.
Yea, all I can say is just do what Pinkfloyd said. Just reset it back to defaults, and if that dosnt work, I bet you have a boot sector virus. Try to scan, because it does sound like a virus to me. Good luck.

Witch "F" key do you mean?
It depends on your computer, because to get into your bios it might be diffrent from computer to computer. Try to hit F2, F1, or DEL. If those don't work, look for something before your computer starts up, that says "Press X to enter set up" It should be on the black screen when you first turn on your computer. Then look for 'Factery Settings' or 'Reset to Default'. and then save and exit. that should do it. Let us know what happens. Good luck...

Dude the mother board is basically the skelaton to your computer. That is wehre the memory, hard drive, processor, fans, everything goes into, so yes... The mother board is really important...
