Oooooohhhhh it will be done justice. The standard C6 has less power and more weight, plus a smaller powerband and worse handling then the Z06, and your basic C6 still beats out quite a decent number of cars that cost waaaay more. Just wait to see the track times....it's only a matter of months now.

They already have a track time. It's almost as fast as a Carrera GT. The new Z06 runs a 7:42 around the nurburgring. To give you an idea of how fast this is, the Carrera GT does it in only 7:40 (and thats a $500,000 car) . The Lamborghini Murcielago runs a 7:50, the Pagani Zonda S runs a 7:44.

For the price, the z06 is gonna be the fastest car you can buy for under 100,000 dollars. Not just the fastest, but it will blow the fucking doors off of anything on the track.

That was race prepped, which is not the same exact thing as what comes to your door when you pay for one. It is tuned quite differently, and alot of the time has different wheels. So, let's wait until we have 100% factory-stock track times?

"The record was made on a stock Z06 with runflat tires, no rear wing, and the stock body package that all C6 Z06 street cars will have. That was the point of this particular test – to test a stock STREET car, in a racing environment to demonstrate its performance capability."

It was on run flats...thats at least 5 seconds right there that can be shaved off with a quick tire swap.

Tell that to the Ariel Atom. Top Gear raced it against a bike, and the bike got demolished by several seconds. Plus they said the Atom was far more thrilling. Bike lost on all counts then, it seems.

Well, there is the slight problem of the Ariel Atom being illegal for street use in America, as it does not have a full body or even pass weight restrictions. To get one here in America you have to import one from England as a track racing car. I'd say it would still be worth it though.

True true - I did not know that there was so many vehicle restrictions in the US, that sucks really -

Yeah, you Brits produce such amazing cars, but unfortunately they usually aren't legal here. Lotus Elise was slightly redesigned for the Toyota 1.8 liter, so it would pass emissions here. The Atom as I said, is too light. The Noble M12 series is also a bit on the light side, but fails emissions tests miserably. The Caterham's....same as the Atoms. The only thing that manages to get by without being redone are Aston Martin's, but those.....just aren't extreme really. Something I would love to do though, is to import a Sagaris one day! (Oh yeah, no TVR has yet passed emissions testings in America! :( )
Make some legal cars, damnit! Practically all of my favorite cars are British and illegal in America.

I'd actually be willing to bet that the new Z06 could beat a bike around the ring. Say a ducati 999, I'm pretty sure it would get beat.
