Im new to this, and shouldnt be a hard question to anyone who has used it.

When I add a layer to a page and move it around someplace its never in the same area when i preview it in my browser. Why is this?

In other words im moving the layer around and its not showing correctly in my browser. I thought using layers enabled me to have freedom over where I place things. Its just not turning out correctly.

Anyone help?

Thanks in advance.

It is giving you full control over where things are. In case you haven't noticed though, browsers and programs view the same things differently, and this is no exception. You can get a general idea, but any further msut be done with small tweaks of trial and error. Have both Dreamweaver and the browser open with the page, so you can quickly alter it perfectly.

Thanks very much for your reply. I didnt realise it took so long to manually manouver layers around the workspace so they end up in the correct place in your browser.

Any more tips on this subject or using Dreamweaver in general?

thanks

GOLIVE is much better than Dreamweaver. I reccomend using it instead if you have a choice. It is much more user friendly.

No way. Dreamweaver is more advanced, but you can do so much more. The trade-off isn't worth it.
