How can I save a dvd onto my computer as a .wmv or .mov or sumthin'?

I don't know anything about rippnig DVD's personally. But I did find this.

I'm not sure, but can't you do that with windows media player 10?

windows media player wont rip a dvd. If its copyrighted you need to decompiler the dvd, and rip each file. That way your can remove advertisements etc, and shrink the dvd. I personally used DVD Shrink to do it.
Do a google for dvd decompiler and shrink.

you need a dvd ripper program, it's almost not worth it it takes up so much time, when you first copy the dvd to you computer, it could be anywhere from 10 - 15 gigs of space, all depending on the size of the movie, then you can rip it to under a gig ....
