There is this public acess show here in Seattle called "Kurt Cobain Was Murdered" Some guy trying to prove Courtney Love killed him. It has been on for a while with hundreds of episodes. He is the one behind all this shit. In one episode he was assaulted by a bum with a briefcase. What that had to do with his murder I don't know but it made for a good laugh. It started in 1984 in Washington DC (not Seatle) with The Rites of Spring (not Nirvana). Nirvana based their music on The Melvins, another grunge band, not emo. Nirvana didn't act emo either. They didn't cry on stage, they didn't wear make up, and they dressed in jeans and a tee shirt, not all black. Other than lyrically, no current emo bands even sound like Nirvana. Kurt sang in a low slurred voice, emo bands sing like they are twelve year old boys. I don't think I have even heard an emo band list Nirvana as an influence, but that is just me.
