I hate the sound of violins, the only good thing that came out of them was the bow, for Jimmy Page.

I some how dont think that ANYONE could play eruption with one hand.

First of all most it is double tapping, (for the people who dont know the theory behind guitar) , where you (if right handed) tap an upper fret with a left finger while simultaneously hammering with you 1st, 3rd and 4th right finger. Second it has a lot of artificial harmonics (where you strike the string with a pick on an angle to get that wah sound- vibrato must be used for that too- ) and thirdly it uses speed picking (well der, you need a pick for that). it is pretty much impossible to play it with one hand, if you did it would sound shit, it would sound a 5 year old trying to play it

^ The violin's neck is about a quarter the length of a guitar, you don't need to double tap when you can reach every note with one hand. The violin also has a much higher ranger then a guitar, so the harmonics aren't necessary. And a good violinist can duplicate the speed picking with speed bowing, that's not that crazy, he's just fast. This guy did a damn good job of it in my opinion.

So true, my sister has a violin that I steal to use the bow everynow and then. I checked it out and I can stretch about... 4/5 of it, not sure if its a full size violin. On a full size guitar neck, I can get from 12 to 4, not comfortably or practically.
