The English team is pretty good, but it does have a couple of weaknesses, like missing a good keeper, the backs aren't that strong and all your players have really long and hard seasons.

England has a good chance, but there's atleast 5 more teams with a better chance of winning it. They'll still be one of the favourited though.

I say we get rid of "Donky" James, bring in someone who can acctually do their job (ie: Save Goals).
I still think that Sven is a good manager, but I'm sure that will change after summer next year

I disagree i think David James can be an extremely good goalkeeper, but sometimes he shouldn't just watch the ball go in to the back of his net and atleast attempt to save it.

the backs arent that strong
what part of campell, ferdinand and terry do you find weak and carragher and king as substitutes(i dont know which 2 to use from campell, terry and ferdinand)
Neville or ^^^^^^ as right back
cole and bridge as left backs
and there getting off a month early so there season shouldn't effect them as much
England is good but they are no match for Brazil

Dont be daft, England are a match for anyone, it doesnt matter who we play, in a competative game of football England are tough opposition for anyone.

Brits always think England are going to win the next World Cup but if England are lucky they'll get to the Quarter Finals, I can't really see them getting past that stage.
James needs one leg chained to each goalpost with just enough slack for him to move around trhe 6 yard box.

I didnt mean it like that. It's true, England has a great team but players like Kaka, Ronaldo (average), Ronaldinho, Adriano, Robinho, R.Carlos, Lucio, Dida,... are hell for each team they play.
And they also have a great bench.

He does have a point, your undesputed mainstriker (Owen) is being replaced by some brazilian talent that hasn't really shown anything yet (Robinho), and nobody's wondering why.

Sometimes players just dont work at certain clubs. Owen was sub most of last season but still had the best minutes on pitch to goal average.
Who says Robinho will have any impact ?

What's that with you English people and stats. If he scores that fast, then why the bloody hell didn't he get his fair share of first team football? He got one chance of playing at an undisputed topteam and he blew it, now he's probably going to Newcastle, so it doesn't show he isn't as good as people think he is.

Raul, Ronaldo and Owen ... your the manager, pick your two strikers.
Who do you choose ?
I'm not saying Owen is great, far from it, I was just pointing out why he may have lost out to Robinho. Players just dont work in a certain style and/or at certain teams. You dont need to look any further than Diego Forlan.

Englands problem is, that it's pretty difficult to get World Champion without participating in one single penalty shoot-out (which - as we all know- the English ALWAYS lose).

Michael Owen is one of the best strikers in the world, he has proved that at all levels. God only knows why he didnt get more chances at Madrid, it probably has something to do with Raul being "Mr Madrid" and Ronaldo being idolised by the fans.
Raul has been poor by his high standards and in any other team in club football he would be dropped, Owen is a far better striker than Raul.
Owens scoring rate is awesome, he will garuntee any team 20+ goals a season. Im realy surprised that apart from Liverpool and Newcastle nobody else seems interested, Chelsea could do with Owen upfront as hes 10X the striker Drogba is, United could use him, Arsenal despite having 4 or 5 strikers could definatley use him as apart from Henry and Bergkamp (whos getting on now) they have average strikers.
I honestly believe England can win the world cup, we are amongst a small group of maybe 6 elite teams and I think we are Europe's best chance of winning it.
Brazil are the favorites and rightly so as their attacking options are second to none but England, Argentina, Holland, Spain and Italy arent goin there to make up the numbers.

We have an excellent team, they just don't seem to perform, i'd love us to win the world cup but it's gonna be hard if we keep playing like we are now.

Everyone is talking about England possibly winning the World Cup, but there is also a possibility that they don't even qualify for the World Cup. There might be quite a few surprise teams representing Europe this year, like Ukraine, Poland, Croatia, Serbia & Montenegro and Switzerland. Giants like France, Spain and England might not even make it. It's ironic in a way, because all the groups were set up so that all the big teams would not have to be in the same group and now they might have to play each other anyway in playoff stage for the final qualifying spots.

they mean fuck all right enough,so if a country is ranked 174th, it still means there as good as some country ranked 5th.....
1.brazil 2.netherlands 3.argentina 4.czech republic 5.mexico .....on form they are the best teams in the world...oh wait england keep slipping down the table is that why it means fuck all
but england will still win the world cup just like all the other world cups since 66, the arrogant twats

I couldn't give a damn where England are ranked its still worthless. Brazil imo are the only number 1 candidates, after that it should be vastly different with Mexico around 40th at the most.

Flankered let me explain it once more.....
USA and Mexico play in the confederation CONCAF which means they play teams from that confederation more than they do any other, they play all their world cup qualifiers against the CONCAF teams.
Apart from the mighty USA and the truely awesome Mexico the teams that make up CONCAF are true powerhouses in world football, the likes of St Kitts, The Bahamas, Jamaica, Honduras, Fiji, Haiti, Bermuda, Guatemala, Hawai, Cuba and the Dominican Republic.
I can see now why USA are so high up the list, I mean if you can beat teams like Fiji.......
If USA and Mexico somehow had to play in the UEFA confederation where you would come up against England, France, Italy, Germany, Holland, Spain, Portugal, Poland, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Turkey and Russia you would be ranked 20th at the most bcoz you would lose a hell of a lot more than you do against teams you can call amature at best.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!THE FIFA RANKINGS DO NOT MEAN A THING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
