Political writing is definetly one of my favourite "genres" of writing. Discuss good political bands/songs.
Obviously RATM, but to be specific: Ashes in the fall, Freedom, Bullet in the head, voice of the voiceless, sleep now in the fire...etc.
Bullet in the head and ashes in the fall are my favourites.
Discuss political lyrics and writing (And yeah, this just might be a repost, dont be fucking ignorant and direct me to a 2 year old thread and type REposT!!1!!!!!!!!...please :D )

Hello, Anti-Flag is the most ridiculous political band ever. Most punk bands are, but the don't go as far as them.

It seems to me that any political music that's from less than 10 years ago just.......... isn't that good.

I loved Rage Against The Machine, I think they were the second best band of the ninties (and they started fifteen years ago, not ten). My favorite song is Born of a Broken Man. Sleep Now in the Fire is great too. I would love to hear an Audioslave cover of either of those songs.

For me, I think a band deserves credit in a political sense more because of their dedication rather than the actual message, the complexity of the message or whether I agree with it. From what I've heard, Zach De La Rocha was willing to be arrested to stand up for his message. If you go to the RATM website, even after breaking up, they still have a lot of political stuff on there.

And it isn't like Rage doesn't have some idea of what they are talking about. Tom Morello has a Harvard degree in Political Science.
