eBaum's and New Grounds

eBaums and New Grounds are so much alike. I myself am from NG and often write in the forums under the same name. I was looking at some of these topics and noticed how much these sites are alike. For instance, NG frequently talks about weird shit like Rubber Johnny and Goatse, etc.

There are some things both sites have that the other doesn't. For example, NG has the biggest and baddest Flash Library on the net. eBaum's has specific pranks and other activities for the user, like Im prank and the sound boards.


Overall, i think the hating should stop. I know that there is not a lot of sentiment between the two sites, but I really don't think we should be fighting at all. So, I say Peace, eBaumians. :bang:

I understand a lot of NG users consider E a thief. Most of the stuff he posts is user submitted, and I'm sure that he doesnt think of what he does as theft. I would be honored if something I created was placed on the most popular humor site on the web, but that's just me. Also if an author has a problem with their work being displayed I think he would listen if you emailed him.


Regardless, I don't have any problems with NG and visit the site often, it has, hands down, the best flash community on the net, and never fails to entertain.

As far as the website name being blocked, that is the remains of an invasion that took place a few months after I joined. There are a couple more sites that were *'ed out after an invasion (ABS springs to mind).

I just wish that the ill will between the communities would stop. I can understand disliking a site, but not also that sites forum members by association.

I think it is very ambitious of you to try to extend an olive branch between us, and I don't think anyone on these forums has a problem with NG, but it seems that they dislike us, given the times we've been invaded by them.

I think eBaums is more sophisticated, more monitored...and I dont know, its hard to explain. New Grounds seems less monitored and the owner just lets all things fly, while eBaums is constantly monitored and seems more proffesional.

I wasn't planning on a net fight so far, all I did was post a link to the thread Wan tan created and showed how a fanboy of Ebaums here said almost the same exact thing some new member on NG said, just a disturbing coincidence. And also, somebody said we are 'sloppy' and that your forums are more held together...Well. To whoever said that, I am not going to bother quoting you, check out the BBS skin, and moderation team once. ( http://www.new grounds.com/bbs/forum.php?id=1 ) Terrific looking, not sloppy at all, and over 40 moderators, if I am not mistaken? And that isn't even including Icon moderators, or review moderators, NG is very complex, and the complete opposite of sloppy.

And as for us being mature, I am only 14, and am I ranting on about DBZ, porn, and Video games? No, I am acting my age, older than my age, because I realize taking shortcuts in typing, and using 1337 5P34|< is very queer. Overall, NG IS mature, NG IS neat, and NG and Ebaums both have their good qualities or whatever, but there is no way Ebaums can beat NG, in MY OPINION.

Some people are idiots. As far as the flash 'stealing', people see it, and automatically flip on their hate, anger, and yelling switch and go on ranting about whatever the hell they want. I don't think it is any of my business, I just don't like it when somebody starts telling everybody else that they are wrong and that their opinion is more important than yours, and try to push their beliefs on everybody else, in the forum, chat or where-ever. Like I told that guy straight out that he was wrong, in the link to the thread I posted earlier, but he deserved it, he was arrogant and said something like I just described, and I told him right back, if he doesn't want to be on NG, but preaches on how much 'ebaums still pwns the shit out of newgrounds' why is he wasting his time posting on the BBS at NG, and why doesn't he just make his way over here, I don't want to hear anything like that, and I don't think anybody else wants to either. That pretty much explains where most of the bashing stems from, just fanboyism taken to the next step and responded to with more bashing, and pointless flaming. But seriously, I need to return that game now. :0
