Surely you all know of the show Around the horn on ESPN.

Well I seen another board do this on AIM, how it works is the members (up to maybe about 6?) who want to compete meet on AIM and everyone goes into a chat.

The guy who sets up the chat gives the points and makes the topics and such.

So if I set up the chat, and we get 4 members to compete, I will make up a list of topics, you each will have 30 seconds to say what you want about them, if I agree with you, you get points, if I don't, you lose points.

We will have eliminations after every round of course, and a new host every game.

So what do you guys think?

I think this could be lots of fun if we get the serious members to participate and we all actually designate a time to do it.

So lets work on a time gentleman.

Ok heres how it will work, we have a time, like 30 seconds, not exactly 30, but give or take a few.

You can have that much time to type ONE, yes ONE paragraph, or however much you can type around 30-40 seconds.

Then the host determines whether the post was absolute shit or pure brilliance and awards points, then the next guy gets his shot.

After you all have went twice we will have an elimination round, after you all go one time after that eliminations will happen each time all of you go.

Still with me? Good.

I think the current champ (DP72) should be able to stay on the next one. The other 3 will be challenging for his title as champion.

I also think it would be cool to keep track of the number of showdowns and the number of wins, like they do on the actual show.

And another thing - I don't really like the fact that one person goes first and one person goes last every time. I would have 4 topics, with the contestants rotating. (1,2,3,4; 2,3,4,1; 3,4,1,2; 4,1,2,3). Then the elimination. Then 3 buy or sells with the contestants rotating again. Then another elimination, the showdown, and the Last Word.

When someone is eliminated everyone can ignore. You could also use the ignore feature to be kind of like the mute feature on the show.
