Randy Moss is by far, the best reciever now, but he's got a big mouth that makes him look pretty stupid.

1. Randy Moss- He's one of the best athletes in the NFL and the most skilled WR. For years in Minnesota, he's been double covered, and still excels and puts up big numbers. In his first 6 years in the NFL, he put up 1,000+ yard seasons, and put up 767 last year even though he missed a few games. He's only had 1 season where he's had less than 10 TDs, if he can stay healthy and out of trouble, he could go down as one of the best WRs of all time, and could hold a few records. A new start in Oakland should do Moss good, and Kerry Collins isn't that big of a downgrade from Daunte.

2. Marvin Harrison- The numbers do all the talking, since he never does (one of the best character players in the NFL), 4 seasons of 100+ catches, and 6 straight of more than 85, and 6 straight 1,000 yard, 10 TD seasons. Manning to Harrison is one of the best QB/WR combinations in NFL history. He should have another big year, and this is with sharing receptions with 2 other big time receivers.

3. Torry Holt- Like Harrison, he's a high character player who lets the stats show how good he is. He hasn't missed a game since he entered the NFL, and has had 5 straight 80+ receptions, 1300 yard seasons. He's won a Super Bowl, and was the main target of the Greatest Show on Turf.

4. Terrell Owens- He's one of the most skilled players in all of sports, but isn't the best receiver for obvious character issues. Everywhere he goes, he causes trouble, he's wanted out of San Fransisco, Baltimore, and has possible run himself of Philly. He showed last year how great of an athlete he is, coming back from a broken leg in 6 weeks to perform big in the Super Bowl.

5. Chad Johnson- He's emerged as one of the best WRs in the NFL with 2 straight 90 catch, 1200+ yard (3 straight 1000 yard) seasons. He's a great target for Carson Palmer and is a great playmaker.

Yea, being 15-1 last season does make you a horrible team  . Plax isn't even close to being a top receiver. He only has his size, and that's about it. Randle El has his speed.

TheDawgPound72
08-29-2005, 08:30 PM
The 216 means he's from Cuyahoga County (the area code, county Cleveland's in), so it's easy to see why he would say Steelers suck. Then again, he can be from Alaska and just like the band 216, but something tells me the first is accurate.

Dont forget his handstand into a cartwheel into a triple 360 dive into the endzone for a touchdown.

But he drops it right in his hands...unreal.

Everybody seems to be repeating the same list.

1) Reggie Wayne IND
2) Terrell Owens PHI
3) Randy Moss OAK
4) Deion Branch NE
5) Jerry Rice DEN

I predict that these guys will be the top five in catches and catch percentage this year. They're all in passer-friendly offenses and have the HANDS to actually haul in the passes.

Speed is a grossly overrated quality in a reciever. The difference over a normal 10 yard route between a 4.2 guy (terrifyingly fast) and a 4.7 guy (maybe fast enough to play tight end) is about a foot and a half. That's not enough of a gap to be called "separation".

Deion Branch? If that man was playing naked at night all you could see is his eyes.

1) Moss (Nigga With Attitude)
2) Holt (quiet overachiever got 1600 recieving yards 2 years ago)
3) TO (doesnt need to be a bitch all the time)
4) Harrison (down year for him is 1150 yds with 15 TDs)
5) C. Johnson (just like TO except still getting better)

Wait, what the hell planet are you from? I can't even fathom why you put Jerry Rice on that list. You also left out the guy with the best hands in the league (IMO) in Marvin Harrison. Deion Branch is a reach, but I guess since he is a #1 receiver, I'll give it to you. Rice is going to be the #4 or #5 receiver on Denver, in route to getting 10-20 catches this year. Do you even watch football?

I dont know if you actually watch cleveland games or just see the what happened on on sportscenter, but if you DO watch the games then why the FUCK would you say Braylon Edwards. I dont know of one single cleveland fan, and thats alot of people, who think he is good. The guy drops fucking passes every game, when I say every game i mean multiple passes. They say the only thing holding him back are is QB's, but that is pure bullshit. HE is the one holding himself back. The only thing he is good at are jump balls, but if it hits in the hands while going across the middle or hits him in the numbers he is going to drop it.

Hmm a top 5 is pretty difficult... in my mind Chad Johnson is clearly the most talented but only slightly ahead of the other top tier WRs. The rest is a toss up between TO, Moss, Harrison, Holt, Steve Smith, Andre Johnson and Roy Williams.

Interesting that everyone from 05 was saying Moss... that was right in the middle of his three horrible seasons lol.

If you've seen the thread about the Pats cheating, you'd know I'm not a Pats homer but watching Moss this year, there's no way you can even argue intelligently that he's not in the top 5 in the NFL. He's the Moss of old again. Moss (in 99-2003) was easily the best WR in the NFL and talent-wise, he's the most talented NFL WR ever and this is coming from a Packers fan. Moss is the most talented WR to ever put on a uniform in the NFL. And now that he has motivation again, he's back atop the NFL in receiving.

He's tied for first in TDs, 2nd in total yards receiving, 2nd in yards per game, 9th in yards per catch. How can you argue that he's not at least top 5?
