Finley is overrated, i NEVER thought he was the star on the Mavs 2,3,4 years ago...He is garbage...
as for Nick "The cockyiest guy in the world because i take my free-throws 3 feet behind the foul line" Exel, i just cant stand that nigga.

Isn't Van Exel like, 35? And he still looks like he's 15. I don't see him doing much though. But Finley's a great shooting addition. I can't figure out why Dallas would let him go, and, their championship chances with him.

Both are good additions and know their role, warm the bench and give Parker/Duncan a breather. As Duncan said to Van Exel, "We would love to have you...but we don't need you." If some one tells you that I'm sure you know your place, especially before you sign.
And my quote is from the Sa Express News (http://www.mysanantonio.com/sports/columnists/bharvey/stories/MYSA090105.1C.COL.BKNharvey.finley.12e81f7b.html) towards the end there.

The Spurs are so deep now its crazy. They run their organization to perfection ( making them the winnngest team in all American pro sports in the TD era. ) Finley would have been crazy to go to South Beach.

So, what does race have to do with it? Huh, (I'm not being racist here Cat) See, Most of the black basketball players in the NBA all come from a ghetto or the city. The only thing that they do all day is play basketball, that is how they became pros. It's not our fault that us white people live in big houses and play video games all day...Am i making sense? I go to they YMCA to play basketball like every friday night at around 7 with a couple buds and leave at 9. I have black friends there that said they where at the YMCA at 12:00PM and they dont leave till 10 PM. That is how the become so good, by PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE. Also, You want to know how the forgin players became so great? Because when they where growing up in the early 1990s, they saw all the great players like Bird, Magic, Shaq, and MJ and those where their role models and that is who they wanted to be. So they worked hard at it...

The Spurs are a very international team. They are crazy enough to play team basketball, and they are rewarded with rings. They have zero loudmouth criminals and three titles.

Finley is way over-rated and Van Exel is way too old and can't deliver the goods anymore.

As starters, I would agree. These guys are just needed for extra playoff push help. Finleys outside touch and Van Exels leadership and expirience just put the back 2 back on lockdown!

He's a career .370 shooter from outside the arc and has averaged 19.0 ppg over his the same time span. I don't see how he is over rated, as he was the most coveted free agent this off season and the world champs got him. I think its a great fit for him. Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili are always attacking the rim, if the defense tries to collapse on them, they always have him as an option to pass for an open 3 pointer. As well as Tim Duncan, who can pass out to him if he is double teamed from the weak side. He is not expected to put up major numbers, just a good addition to an already well maintained machine.

This move helps the Spurs alot Finley will provide more offense when their offense ain't hitting on all cylinders and Van Exel gives them some toughness they need at the point because Parker is a pussy that chokes when the game is on the line. Parker almost won the Finals MVP last year for the PISTONS!!!

Ease up on Tony a little, man! :) Hes been playing against much bigger guys all his life, and on top of that he wasnt brought up in the more physical American game. Hes still a youngblood, albeit a very expirienced one. Since hes on contract thru the decade, along with TD and SuperManu, so I feel a dynasty coming on...

.370 is not really great/good. It's decent. Ever heard of Fred Hoiberg. He had a .483 shot percent from the outside this year. Now finley has a .407 from the outside.(Overrated?) Look 19 points in the NBA is nothing. The scores in the NBA today are 110-125, You could put the second best highschool baller in and he could put up 19.

Parker's size is no excure. Earl Watson is a midget aswell and he plays excellent defense and doesn't choke since his days at UCLA. I don't think Parker has that toughness Manu has and, I doubt he will ever get it.

This dude said Van Exels leadership..lmfao. DIdn't he hold out against Golden State? or was he just injured i forget.
Nick sucks. He had 1 good playoffs with dallas back in 03(where he played PG, not every canadian unson hero NASH) and ran the offense. Other then that, NVE hasnt been shit.
oh and how to be an NBA player as a foreigner....Avg 6.7 pts in an Italian basketball league and scouts will see your potential. It's pathetic. As much as Im a fan of foreign ball and how they play the game, it just doesnt compare to how weak they are against our top guns.

Me neither. I think SuperManu will establish himself as a top 5 player this season. Unpredictable, fast, and best of all ...fearless! And hes able to decide to pull back and let Tim Duncan shoot (helluva #2 option!), then maybe TP, or my boy Devin, Barry, Big Dog, Udrih, now Finley anf VE! The Spurs make it a point to only sign talented international players, like Mannys big ass Argentinian friend Oberto. The NBA has a Top Dog, and #2 (Phoenix?) is a ways off...

Damn why is everyone hating on these guys? Is it because they didn't join your team? Nick and Finley are FAR from overrated, Nick is old, but the little man will KILL your team if you don't defend, anyone remember the Mavs/Kings series where Nick completely went off and averaged 40/game throughout the entire series? The man knows what he's doing. As for Finley, the man has THE most beutiful shot in the Association, period. When he was with Dallas and Dirk was injured(as always), who would step up and replace Dirk averaging well over 20 a game? Was it the MVP Nash? Fuck no! It was my boy Michael Finley, the man can straight up ball and is a definate positive aquisition to my team.

You can't turn down a two-time all-star. You just can't. Especially one that has gas in the tank. He Will learn to defend better with the Spurs.
Finley and NVE added to a championship team that lost nothing... That's sick. All the players added are guys with starter talent knowing they have a bench role. This will be so huge during the year when guys are tired, dinged-up etc. Man what an off season!
Finley & NVE can only help & not hurt our team, great addition. Depth is key in sports. Finley has his weaknesses and is getting older, but I know Pop along with Duncan and Ginobli and every other Spurs player, they'll bring out the best in him.
God it's good to be a Spurs fan. :D

People of all demos are crazy about the NBA, especially here in Dallas. IMHO, basketball gives you the best entertainment value per minute/dollar. At least, here in Dallas it does. :) I'd hate to be a fan of a team like Golden State or LA Clippers.
