Hi folks,
I have just got back from a holiday in Spain, where I heard a song that featured Martin Luther King's "I Have A Dream" speech being played when I was lying around the swimming pool. It was a real chill-out tune playing behind Dr King's speech. I asked one of the employees at the hotel what the song was called and who it was by, but she could only tell me that it was called Freedom - I Have A Dream. She said it was on a promotional CD that had been sent to them by, of all people, Tampax !!! I would love to get hold of this song, can anyone tell me who it was recorded by and confirm the title. I have searched on sites like Kazza and Limewire and there are plent of hits for "I have a dream". Unfortunately these are just MP3s of the actual speech, they are not the song, which is what I would like to get hold of. Thanks Dave

Do you remember any of the lyrics?

Hi Fidel,
The lyrics are basically extracts from Martin Luther King's famous Civil Rights speech. I think this extract was included in the song:

"I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal." I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slaveowners will be able to sit down together at a table of brotherhood. I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a desert state, sweltering with the heat of injustice and oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice. I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. I have a dream today."

Thanks for the reply,

Dave

Wait, so how do black liberation and clogging up a bleeding vagina go hand in hand?

DrProf,
I think Tampax had a product called Freedom. Not that I ever used it myself you understand!! ;-)

That's a new low. Tampon commercials suck in general. Do we really need them? I mean it's not like women are going to stop having periods if they stop airing those stupid commercials all the damn time. People will still have to buy the same amount of tampons.
