Who here likes this band. I love em', I think they are one of the best bands ever. Even though they are broke up, but audioslave is alright.
They were good. I just got the "Battle Of Mexico City" DVD which is fuckin awesome (except for all that documentary stuff in between songs). Anyway, they're good and Audioslave is OK. Favorite Rage song: Know Your Enemy

I saw audioslave in june, and while they were good, the RATM covers is what most people were there for. They played Killing in the Name and it was fuckin' awesome!!

Rage ruled, they are my second favorite band from the nineties. My favorite song is Born of a Broken Man. Tom Morello kicks ass.

Rage is the best band in all of the universe. A little question though, someone mentioned earlier that audioslave (not capitalized for a reason) played Killing in the name. Does that mean that chris cornell rapped? Because that would be funny.

Chris Cornell rapped in Sleep now in the fire and Killing in the Name and i think he did a pretty good job. Although killing in the name isn't really fast rapping.
They also played Bulls on Parade but he didn't rap for that, which is probably a good thing.

Drummer & lead singer did kick ass. But too many political messages they were making. But who gives a fuck anyways.

Im not sure they can be compared, diff kind of music. Both bands are freakin classic. They are both in my holy triumvirate, along with the band that they call Sublime...right? :)

though all three are good bands, none of them were really great guitarists. they did awesome with what they had, but they didn't have much.

I love RATM, im listening to The Battle Of Los Angeles as i type this. Undeniably a very original and talented band, Audioslave is decent, but nothing compares to RATM.

You dont think Morello is a great guitarist? The rest of them, esp. Kurt, werent really about great guitar, per se, more about lyrics and emotion. Along with what was at that time a totally new sound. Nirvanas success spawned horrible wannabees (Candlebox anyone?) that cheapened the whole genre.
Sublime, oh sublime :) , classic SoCal sound before anyone knew what it was. Im glad they checked out before they could be asked to soundtrack a goddam Microsoft commercial or sumpin.

I'm pretty sure I remember a Sublime song on either a Dave Mirra or Matt Hoffman video game for the PS One.

sure they were all good, morello had talent. but he wasn't even close to guitar-god status by any means.

He may not play all fast and shit like alot of other guitarist like Rhandy Rhodes or Zakk Wylde or EVH, ect. but that was just his style and the way he wanted to play.

Wrong. Tim Morello = GREAT Guitarist.
Sure Zack de la Rocha was a great influence in the band but Rage wouldn't be Rage without Tim.

Its TOM Morello. Timmy C was the bassist. He isn't really a great guitarist in the conventional sense, but he is very creative with the sounds he can make with a guitar.

i never said he wasn't creative, or he didn't bring the band together. i said he did great for the band despite the fact that he wasn't amazing at guitar. he was more than good enough, but you won't see him in the greatest guitar ever polls that pop up every few weeks.

Actually I usually mention him.
