Ok, here is my problem. Every once in a while, the CPU on my laptop will go all the way up to 100% for no reason at all and will stay like that until I restart the computer. explorer.exe is the program that is always taking up all the CPU. Is there an easy way to fix this? I have included two screen shots from my task manager, dont know if that will help at all.

Please help me out on this one.

Thanks.

all right mate, it might be a virus, but most likely it is spyware. the good news is you can easily fix that, just run this online virus/spyware scan. and if it finds anything, it will remove it. here is the link to it. but make sure you run the complete scan, so you can scan for viruses and spyware. just in case.

instead of restarting your computer, try this and it might help. right click on explorer, and then go to end process tree. and then your screen will go blank, except for your desktop, then go to FILE> NEW TASK, and type explorer, and that should be a quick fix for you. hope it helps.
