Tonsils getting out?

I might be getting my tonsils taken out, I was wondering who had theirs taken out and if it's going to put me out of commission for a while, and how much of an ordeal the surgery is.

Most people I know that had theirs ripped had it when they were little.

I'm going to try to have them save them for me... I'll get pics if I can.

not bad, got mine out when i was 8, i cried like a little bitch, i feel bad for my sister though, she got hers out at 10 and she gots these little white puss balls in the back of her throat....do not save them, they look like testicals

I had mine out not too long ago. It's not that bad. They sedate you, and then take them out. You wake up after what feels like 3 seconds. It takes about a week, maybe a little more to recover. The only bad thing is you have a MASSIVE sore throat. For me it was so bad that i couldn't swallow or talk. But it ends, as does all pain. The whole "eat as much ice cream as you want" therory was a lie for me. Apparently the dairy products are bad and made me throw up whenever i had it. Maybe it's different for you.

It's no big deal though.

If I had gotten strepp throat one more time then I would have had to get them taken out. I was actually looking forward to the whole all the icecream you can eat.

its the testicle-like apparatus that hangs in the back of your throat. Im pretty sure they have no use.

I think i might need them out i've been having what i think was and is a sore throat for almost 2 weeks now... Every time i swallow it hurts.
