power wheels
ok me and my buddies have been wanting to modify my power wheels escalade for awhile, and i thought this might be a good place to ask. so yeah we have three ideas, we could put in a go ped engine which wouldnt be too hard, but it would take some welding and stuff and i guess with a stock engine it would go probably 20-25 or so then faster if we modify it a little. or i have an old go-kart motor that would mabye fit thats 15 hp and then it would seriously go like 50-60mph, but it would be hard to fit it and that would be really scarry going 50 in a powerwheels
we also thought about putting a golf cart motor in it, it would fit and golf carts go probably around 15 mph, but those weigh like 400lbs and power wheels weigh like 40 so it would probably be alot faster. then the last idea was that since it uses 2 small motors we could get 2 brushless motors that are the same size and just put those in with a ton of batteries. and brushless motors can get rc cars up to like 70 mph with one so mabye with two we could go around 20-30? so yeah what do you think we should try? |

But why the rubberband?

So your going to use a shity plastic power wheels to mount at least a 50 pound motor and hopefully hold together when it going upwards of 20 mph. Those things barely hold at 4 mph.
Why don't you start from scratch, make a simple frame out of metal tubing or something like that. It doesn't need a suspension just some simple way to turn the front wheels. and mount a little motor on teh back. Maybe something off a lawn mower, or if you want to go big maybe find a old 100cc dirt bike at a junkyard and do that. It doesn't take much though to get a little thing like that to move. At the go-kart track I use to work at we only had 8hp motors in them and were a good 250, driver included, and would get up to 45mph and get there fast. |

yeah we are gonna make a chassis, we have already kinda planned it out and how its gonna go together, i really wanna keep the escalade body and stuff cause thats why we bough it, so it looks like an actual powerwheels. ive got a bunch of extra go kart parts and stuff laying around like rain tires which will work for offroad stuff and tons of extra slicks. im definatly leaning towards the gas engines, but i just dont if i wanna do the 15hp engine or the go ped engine. the 15 hp would be so fast!

You're trying to make a sleeper power wheels? Don't you think the sound of the engine might give it away?
Try a bigger electric motor.

Rota? A single rotor carburatted one should suffice, and be pretty cool, but i think you'll need a bigger and better frame if it going to withstand more than the stock power (and also be able to move your fat ass without having the whole thing break).

whoa, whoa, WHOA! Why the hell do you have anything modeled after an Escalade? And I love the link to the picture above, everybody know white people aren't allowed Escalades. My guess would be to just make an entirely knew chassis and everything, basically a mini go-kart, then burn the Escalade and leave on the front lawn under a pile of semen, urine, and fecies.

To do it right.... you'll want to have atleast a 100 shot of nitrous to get that girl moving.

ok yeah i have a friend who has a gokart chassis that is mabye like 17 inches longer than the escalade body. but we kinda planned it out and it would fit pretty well with a little work, and my friend knows how to work with fiberglass or something and he said he will extend the body enough so i can sit really low and cover up hte engine in the back, so all i need is an engine which i found on ebay thats 6.5hp so that should be enough for like 40 mph or so. so all we pretty much have to do is fit the body around the gokart chassis. its gonna look sooo goofy, then my buddy has neon lights that we are gonna put all over it, so yeah its gonna be the gayest thing ever in a cool way. then for the exhaust i think we might add alot of piping and stuff to make it real quiet even though it will lose power hopefully it will be super quiet.
oh and my friend has a motorcycle turbo and he is gonna put it on his go ped motor and he will give it to us if it works, he says he knows how to do it but i kinda doubt it. so yeah if you have any advice or anything that would be sweet cause we need it. |
