bout effing time + rise of legends

it's about time this board was created. video games are right up there with music and movies as the biggest forms of media.

anyway, to be more on topic, who's going to be buying rise of legends?

i'm gonna get it, even if i am pissed that they sold out and changed to a fantasy style game rather than sticking to historical.
im sure big huge games will do it better than anyone else, though.

I hope this board stays alive the rest of the week. We can have an E3 thread, showing all of the previews and news. That would be sweet.

I'm not big into games like rise of nations. I don't play enough to get into something as time consuming as that.

yeah, definitely. this is such a good idea for a board.

and it doesnt really require a whole lot of time. the freestyle games take about an hour, depending on how you play

Rise of Legends is a fuckin monstrosity.

There used to be an extremely fun game back in the day called TOTAL ANNIHILATON. That game was amazingly awesome. It was an RTS and it was completely robots. What was fun was when the robots "died" they exploded and pieces would flip and fly all over the place and they'd leave a metal shell/wreckage you could go salvage. It was an awesome game and did almost everything right. Well instead of making a new and improved version of the game with tons of new features after having limitations with the intial game... they turned it into a fantasy game called TOTAL ANNIHILATION: KINGDOMS. The game sucked ass, didn't sell well at all and eventually the company CAVEDOG went under or was bought out or something.

I think this is what's going to happen to RISE OF LEGENDS. It's almost the same exact thing as the TA KINGDOMS game. I liked RISE OF NATIONS because every nation was so unique in what they could do AND there were a lot to choose from. Every one had their awesome benefits. My favorites were playing as the Japanese w/ their farming and fishing bonuses and Samurai units. I also liked Chinese with their instant workers ability. I found you could stick around for a good long while if your military was wiped out and were being attacked with just a main base... you could create a TON of workers instantly and then turn them into Militia. They could hold their own pretty well against an invading army. *sigh*

I love RISE OF NATIONS

this is my favourite strategy game of all time. i still have my original copy, played it just last week

I do know about Supreme Commander. Until it comes out, TA is still the best RTS there is

I didn't like what they did with rise of nations legends. When i heard first heard of talks of another rise of nations game i though. Hmm this could be interesting, they could add more nations more Conquer the world campaigns better graphics, and just more stuff in general. But i found out it was going to be a fantasy based game. I thought WTF what happened to rise of nations. So i download the demo and give it a shot, and all you can play as are 3 nations !! now come on that sucks. I wish rise of nations stuck with what they had and made a sequal to the original.
