Solid Snake vs. Sam Fisher

technology, sam fisher doesnt have as badass techs as solid snake (i.e modified bodysuit that can cloak) and i like solid's personality... however sam fisher is cooler since he has his badass killing techniques (like hanging upside down to slit someone's throat)...and atleast he doesnt hide in a box to kill..

Solid Snake overall is the better soldier.

Sam is just hella stealthy.

You think Snake can find Sam Fisher hiding above the ceiling ready to snap Snake's neck? While snake is sneaking around, Fisher is just finding the right opportunity to kill snake instantly

Sam Fisher is too calculated and polished, but he just lacks that edge and special instinct that Snake has.

sam could use his heat sensors to see snakes cloaker but I still say solid snake is more badass

Solid Snake is faster, stronger and has single handedly beaten multiple Metal Gears.

It's a no-brainer.

1 suicidal
2 gettin realy old
3 has some kinda illness
4 uses outdated weaponry (he's usin an m4. come on snake there's gotta be somethin better)

but sam is
1 old as well, but not grandpa lookin
2 is a sucky shot
3 is slowly gettin replaced (co-op dudes)

I think even Grandpa Snake could be as cool as ever. Maybe it's a tad unfair to judge him in a game which isn't out yet.

well splinter cell 4 isn't out yet but the e3 trailers made snake suck compared to his youth. plus i hate when guys with swords run around and chop up things that real swords couldn't dent. < rant

I agree with the sword bit. It pisses me off when swords are opted for over guns. The fact is that they're NOT as effective.

Then again, MGS4 is a thoroughly Japanese game and things such as swords, ninjas and wacky biology are to be expected.

I think he'll be using something more up to date. This game is set in 2013 if I remember rightly. The only gun I want to use is the XM8, but since the US military cancelled that last year I guess it's false hope.
