ahmadinejad was just trying to score political points with the youth with that comment, he is just an opportunist. But the fact is hollywood has never shown a decent film about iran, this is just another one of those based on a true story films like "not without my daughter" was supposed to be.

Anyways persians are proud of their history and culture, its no surprise this caused an uproar in the persian community worldwide. You guys couldn't even handle Fahrenheit 9-11 and had to make a special movie just to discredit the producer so give the iranians some credit at least they don't bother to go that far

It was based on a graphic novel based on a true story. It's main focus was to reproduce Frank Miller's novel. Frank Miller is known for that kind of stuff, like the lobster-clawed executioner and the entirely weird looking Xerxes.

There's a difference between being in an uproar about a movie adaption of a comic book and being in an uproar about a movie that is touted by the creator as 100% factual.

I'm sorry, but crying about fiction that is labeled as fiction is incredibly pathetic, especially when compared to crying about fiction labeled as fact.

Yes, comparing a movie like Fahrenheit 9-11 which was about contemporary events, and 300, a drama about events in 48 bc really makes sense.
