Best way to wash a chamois leather?

So my fairly new leather chamois is getting pretty filthy, short of buying a new one I was just wondering if it can be thrown in the washing machine or something, maybe left in water to soak? What's the best way to get the oil and shit off, if it can even be done?

I could never get those things to last. Went with the absorber and never looked back.

I would hand wash it with warm water and laundry detergent, rinse, ring it out, then hang it up somewhere indoors. Don't put hang it outside or it will dry too much.

Usually the weight of the water will make it stretch if you hang it up. If you don't mind it stretching then hang it up. As for what to wash it with, treat it like you would treat your own skin. It IS just skin after all. Id use a bar of soap with no dyes or scents.

Kumacho has disabled reputation
Lay it out flat, urinate on it and allow it to air dry.
