I see Metallica's "scary guy" as your picture, I have the Metallica scary guy necklace
. I concider myself the ulimate Metallica fan. Moving on to the subject, even though the Mr. Burgess pranks were staged, they are the best prank calls ever. I'm just wondering if anybody who was around when they first came out could tell me which order they were made in, first to last? |

No, that's not his e-mail address, it was an admitted hoax started by someone on the ebaumsworld forum about a year ago. That's not his e-mail address.

Mr. Burgess series pranks are thee best phone pranks I've ever heard. Way better than those Anrie calls (though some are funny)
Doesn't matter if it was staged or not, they are funny as sin, I listen to 'em everynight. Oh Mr. Burgess... Will he ever win? Burkey-Burgess

I still believe Bergis is real, and as I've said before, until the people who made the calls, tell me that they made him up and he was fake...then I'm going to continue to believe.
Also, as I said in another thread, if they're fake...why don't they make more, because they're hilarious.

-On the Magazine Sale call to Burgess, Jerry (the telemarketer) says "good morning", later in the call, Burgess says that he's trying to eat dinner. :wtf: Who the hell eats dinner in the morning??? -It's also amazing how his address mysteriously changes on the calls. At 0:53 into the Big Brothers, Little Bros call, it's "526 West H***son"... yet, at 2:03 into the Child Support call, it's "902 ******** Street". :wtf: -At the end of the Gay School call, just ask yourself: what are the chances that his daughter would pick up the phone??? Yes, they WERE funny, and YES, I used to listen to all of them 15 times a day, but now they're just plain old and boring. Sometimes they're still funny. I've been working on "The Burgess Project", a project I'm doing to PROOOOOVE that Burgess is fake, ONCE AND FOR ALL. I'm going to call the people who "did" them, and record their confession of them being fake, sometime in the next month. You can't listen to Burgess 60,000 times in a row, and still laugh as much as you did, the first time you heard them. I'll give you until April, to start to get sick of them. |

Even though what Garbage Can Lid pointed out makes me believe they aren't real, I still have my doubts.
The "acting" is super-good, and nothing in the calls seems mechanical or "rehearsed". Just listen to the way they talk - either Mr. Bergis is a really good actor, or he all the things he "slipped" on he meant to say (such as 'we're eating dinner' may have been the best excuse he could think of in the heat of the moment, even though it was the morning). Or perhaps Jerry, the telemarketeer said "Good Morning" as part of the "script" he was reading. The only thing I can think of that would make sense is if Mr. Bergis was a regular from the show or even Tony or Keith themselves. It's probably fake, but it's still an interesting debate. Another thing about the calls is, in the gay school one, why would Mr. Bergis just automatically start giving his children's names out over the phone to strangers, especially when he has been through the same thing before? |
