Angry Ohio State fans come here
Since Ohio is well represented on this board, I felt this thread was appropriate.
OSU QB Troy Smith has been suspended for our bowl game against Oklahoma State next thursday for unknown reasons. OSU Athletic Director Geiger says this has nothing to do with the NCAA Investigation. GET RID OF GEIGER. He has no control over the athletic department anymore, and it's all getting out of hand. We need an AD that can lay down the law, even if it is sacrificing a couple wins on the schedule. Now we have to rely on Justin Zwick in a big game. He couldn't even handle Northwestern. I'm gonna go shoot myself. |

Yeah, this is real bad for OSU. Smith is a huge playmaker on offense, and without him this game will be tough to win. However, if Zwick fixed some problems from earlier in the year and can return to that form he had as a QB at Massilon, then he should be good. Tood Boeckman, whos a Freshman Redshirt, is our backup and he's a very good option if Zwick is ineffective, which I don't expect him to be though. I think we should be able to win this one.

Take it from this Kentucky fan,
Just be glad you get to go to bowl games every year and you don't have to worry about wondering if your team will 3 or 4 games.

Speaking of College Basketball, Ohio St. has had its best team in years and the team is gettin screwed over because of money given to a recruit who didn't end up going there. They got a postseason ban placed on themselves. This was most definitely a NCAA Tourney team, and we could have gone far. I don't like teams being banned from postseason play, because it doesn't hurt who did the action, it hurts people who have had nothing to do with it. |

I seriously hope Zwick does good enough to stay in, and he doesn't get injured, because I really, really don't want Boeckman to lose his redshirt, the kid is gonna be awesome, possibly could take the starting spot from Smith next year, but doubtful

Alright, I've had just about enough of ESPN's "journalism". They take the Troy Smith suspension of the Alamo Bowl, and when Andy Geiger "finally" admits its true (let me remind you, he never denied the Smith situation), and they blow it up a million times and go anti-ohio state on all our asses. Now they start relating the situation to the Maurice Clarrett allegations, and base it solely off of journalists and lawyers opinions, and try to slide it in as a fact. That's not journalism.
And what makes me most mad about it, is after I heard the interviews and stuff, I came onto the internet and went to sports websites that weren't espn (yahoo, cbs, sports illustrated), and Andy Geiger admitting the allegations true wasn't even one of the biggest headlines! Yet somehow, it's the lead story on sportscenter. ESPN has turned into a group of journalists all voicing their own opinions, with the occasional highlight. I can make my own opinions. |

Yeah, I know what you mean, they dwell on it way to much. Either way though, the Bucks are screwed if all of Claretts allegations are true. If Tressel gets fired, thatll devastate the Bucks. Hes a great coach. The last 4 years, weve got a National Championship, a 3-1 record in bowl games, and weve been 3-1 vs. Michigan. We have a team that can go far next year, with three able quarterbacks, the Michael Vick of college football, and an outstanding defense led by the All American linebacker AJ Hawk.

Yeah, sometimes I just wish that the NCAA will do a mass-investigation of all major schools. Now I know what it's like to be a fan of Colorado, SMU, Alabama, Baylor, and all the other teams hurt by something that happens everywhere.

Clarett already said his allegations were false...And it would be a horrible loss for Ohio State to lose Tressel. But look at the facts, 15 players have been arrested since Tressel has been coach. He may be one hell of a coach and wins us a lot of games, but he has no control over the team. But I do respect the decisions he makes the reasons for it. When asked why he didn't kick guys off the team or suspend them the entire season, for some of the things they have done, he said that it was just taking the easy way out, and he's here to help them, and work with them. I just hope Ginn doesn't pull a Clarett on us this summer
