Intersting I don't like to see animals be forced to fight which is basically happening there, but in he wild I like seeing random fights and like to know who wins.

The lion won...

It may be hard to understand but the Lion clearly won that fight. The cat on the bottom has all the advantage because it can use it's hind legs and strike the other cats underneath. Lions are use to sparring with other big cats and naturally have more skill at it. The tiger appears a bit out of its element here. A male lion would have crushed that tiger. The front legs of a male lion are built for figting off other large cats and a male lions mane provides all kinds of protection. Male lions are so well designed for fighting other cats they cannot even hunt for themselves. Tigers are strong but are not designed to handle other big cats the way male lions are. I wish someone had a translated version of this. Nice clip...

I wonder where this was. Japan or something? I hate to see cruelty like this.

Interesting though

Twiceasnice, you're just making up shit. The mane has nothing to do with protection...that's like saying a man with longer hair has the advantage over a man with the shorter hair. I'm just going to say it strait up, that was a stupid comment you made.

And 99 times out of 100, a healthy adult tiger will always beat a healthy adult lion, they are stronger and bigger than lions. Tigers are the true kings of the jungle, but lions have that title because of their manes.

Read about shit before you post it dumbass. I am a grown man and do not need to "make up shit." As you put it. Check the link http://www.lionspride.nl/manematter.html

The mane is for three things. 1) To attract females. 2) It is intimidating. 3) For protection in territorial bouts with other male lions. There is admittedly some debate about how much protection a mane creates but hair does provide warmth/protection just the way feathers, scales and even your skin does. A healthy adult lion would crush an adult tiger of the same weight. The front paws/legs or an adult lion are superior. The tiger here cannot even deal with a female lion. Lions are not the kings of the jungle only cause they do not live in the jungle. They live in the plains of Africa. I hope you learned something.

It did look to me that the lion was intentionally rolling onto its back throughout.

Remembering how I've seen them kill large mammals on tv documentaries, it does appear the lion was doing exactly what it would try to do in the wild i.e roll on back, grab throat.

So, I fail to believe that the tiger truly had the upper hand in this video.

[Note: I'm not saying the Lion did either, all I'm saying is that the lion was not getting 'owned' like people have said.]

just my $0.02

I learned that you have no clue who you are talking about. Your site, while it does announce "that mantle of hair might protect you against the claws and teeth of your opponent." does not provide any justification for this to be true. Who the hell is Mr. Simeonovsky, he could be a high school janitor with some lion fetish. Also the word "might" should jump out at you meaning that there is no hard evidence of this.

One thing you are correct about is that you do not make up shit...you believe shit that is made up from some website. "Grown men" should have learned that everything you see or read on the internet is not always true. Didn't mommy tell you? Get some hard statistical evidence from a credible source and then post something that is relevant and valid.

I dont think you can say that either won. They both would have gone back for more if the vid had carried on but the lion was looking pretty submissive half way through the video and if they hadnt of been caged she would have run off. I suppose you could say the tiger had the upper hand.

I'd like to see a male lion fight a tiger might be better.

Quality video though

I dont see the point in this video at all? they are 2 amazing animals and are being put into a situation where they think they have to fight for survival...I hope the makers of this film get raped in the arse by a rampant elephant....

What video where you watching? They even showed it in slow motion of the Tiger knocking the lion in the head so hard the loin was dazed and just laid down. The Tiger was hitting the lion so hard it was knocking him around like a rag doll.

Oh and I'm a grown man too
