probably why he was blowing it up. I'm sure either that thing was ready for a new engine, or the dumpster.

Re post, but i still dont get why they would try to blow a engine that suprise suprise loves to spin lol. Throw some iron filings in the intake and see what happens!

I hate it when idiots do those sort of things, especially to a rotary.

Fuck I hate streetfire, never plays the vids for me.
I don't like Rotarys anyways, so I could care less if it blew. They're torqueless wonders.

it's called "looking after" the car... on a rotary forum i visit many cases of cars with over 400'000ks, im talking fair few, only un reliableness is when modding comes into it... eg bigger turbo, would then need bigger injectors, fuel pump, cooling etc etc...

as far as i knew, the first rotarys were really unreliable. mazda released the engine before the had solved the problem with the "edges" of the rotating pistons. (that they wear really fast).

still. nowadays they are supposedly as reliable as other engines.

when the rotory engine first came out, they predicted that it would be the end of the piston engine....ha, that sure happened. That was what, 30-40 years ago when the rotary was introduced...and its still a pile a shit. Unreliable to this day, no torque to this day....i cant even imagine how much money has been wasted on this engine.

Those are the apex seals. You have to break down the whole engine to replace them. Not fun.
