LOL what kind of defense strategy is this? You get called out for having a party that's corrupt and fucking over America, and your defense is "Democrats are just as bad".

This is why America is going nowhere.

People don't care anymore if they get fucked over by their politicians. The only thing that matters is to just blindly root for your political party, no matter what they do, like it's a football team.

Well, that's the way it's been since John Adams was president so I wouldn't go expecting it to change anytime soon. America has generally done alright in that time. The real changes which have happened in politics and which have lead to the current polarization are from the sheer size of federal government and the vast increase in the scope for corruption since the New Deal expanded the tax base and the end of WW2 left the US with a permanent large military. Government is based on patronage, which is to say corruption, the more money flowing through it's hands and the less accountability, the worse it gets.

You post some libtard cartoon you lifted off of moveon.org or some other lefty site and you think anyone needs to defend themselves against that horseshit? Come on man. Then you rant off on some "rise up against the man" speech like that's the solution to everyone's problems. All the parties are corrupt so we've got to resist. Hey, maybe we can all vote for Jill Stein next time...or better yet, how about Gary Johnson. Which one of those two did you vote for? Or did you buy into the "I'm with Her" crap and vote for Hillary? Surely not...a savvy student of the political process as yourself would never get caught voting for someone as corrupt as Hillary.

I'm not a libertarian. I do agree with a lot of their philosophies, but not their specific policies.

I actually voted for Trump. Not because I liked him or his policies. I didn't like Hillary's either. Mostly because I didn't think he was gonna win. I really didn't want Hillary to win by a landslide. I honestly wanted both of them to lose in some way.

But in the event Trump wins, looking at the next 50 years, no matter how damaging his presidency would be, there would probably be some positive changes in the long run. Sometimes you need things to go through fire to have real changes. We would have a 4 year circus presidency, but at the same time it would shake up the foundation of Washington. Whereas Hillary would have given us 8 years of corrupt dictatorship, that would solidify everything that is wrong with politics in America.

If we're gonna lose either way, it's better to lose in a fiery way.

I just wish the left would get over this temper tantrum and let the guy do his job. Like it or not, the economy is already booming....my retirement accounts have already gained almost $100K just since he took office. And if people would stop mindlessly buying into this false narrative about how these tax cuts are all for the rich, they would see that these cuts are going to further make the economy take off. After 8 years of near stagnant growth under Obama you would think the difference would be obvious.

As for the state of the country and world...Obama left one hell of a mess. A $20 trillion deficit and rogue countries like North Korea that absolutely have to be dealt with NOW. Had Hillary gotten in, the dems just would have found a way to kick the can further down the road until that fateful morning we all wake up and see where someone just got they ass nuked. I don't particularly love Trump's incessant tweeting (although some are amusing) but things are already turning around. I just wish they would give this administration a chance.
