Black Panther was actually pretty good. And it still had a majority of white people in the audience, so it wasn't that bad of an experience.
I was also expecting a lot of "black power" and BLM types of messages. But it was really more of a Lion King type of story, with just a few positive black messages that weren't too BLM-like, and also balanced with some "we niggas fucked ourselves up" messages too. The movie managed to stay focused on a more universal story about family revenge and the politics of ruling, rather than make it about race.
