Payless Shoes #1

Just kidding, but in all seriousness - I normally buy Vans, but this last pair I bought is bugging me a lot. I'm seriously thinking of going and grabbing a pair of Van knock offs at Payless.

Vans are for slackers and basement dwellers.

You must know some strange people. In California, they're pretty casually acceptable for anyone - mostly beach goers.

In Chicago only jagoffs wear them.

People still wear Vans? I associate them with Jeff Spicoli in Fast Times at Ridgemont High. I thought they went out at the same time leg warmers did.
Nope. They're all over the board shops.

In the 80's surfers and skateboarders wore Vans a lot. They were also popular with the pseudo-punks who listened to bands like The Cure, The Smiths and Violent Femmes.

If by “pseudo-punks” you mean pussy emos, then you are correct.
