Shawna started in burlesque in 1972. She was out with friends at a club and it was amateur night... She was dared to dance and WON!!! She performed over the years in many cities up and down the east coast and the Midwest before heading to Hawaii. She performed with Gina Bon Bon off and on in Hawaii for eight years before Gina returned to the mainland. She has performed with Tempest storm, Hyapatia Lee, and Terri Starr among others.

Born in Upstate NY, Lottie began her professional dancing career in Brooklyn at the age of 17. Classically trained, she traveled extensively before falling in love with Detroit, and in 1960 started her illustrious career at the famed Twenty Grand nightclub in 1960. She mingled with a social circle that included Aretha Franklin, Louis Armstrong, Dinah Washington, and Billie Holiday. While Lottie and her Harlem Globetrotter husband Goose Tatum spent time in Cuba, she reportedly schmoozed with Fidel Castro. Lottie is canonized amongst a list of notable other Black burlesque and vaudeville performers who traveled the world headlining venues and breaking racial barriers.

Former slave girls from upstate New York aren't getting it done for me. Does that mean I'm a racist?
